The introduction of reindeer to Brøggerhalvøya, Svalbard: grazing preference and effect on vegetation

open access: yesRangifer, 1993
In 1978 after about 100 years of absence, 15 Svalbard reindeer, Rangifer tarandus platyrhynchus were reintroduced to Brøggerhalvøya, a peninsula on the north-western coast of Svalbard. This stock had increased to about 200 animals in 1989.

Repetitive Eating Questionnaire: Reliability and Validity of Turkish Version and Correlates of Grazing Behavior

open access: yesPsychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, 2023
Objectives: Grazing behaviour which is defined as repetitive and unplanned eating behaviour with small amounts of food over a period of time , has been increasingly recognised among people with obesity and eating disorders, as well as in the general ...

Cattle grazing on semi-natural pastures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The knowledge of the grazing behaviour of cattle on Swedish semi-natural pastures and how this relates to the nutritional quality and quantity of the vegetation is low. In a situation where farming is being intensified both nationally and globally, it is

Synchronization of ingestive behaviour by grazing dairy cows

open access: yes, 1995
The synchronization of eating, ruminating and idling activity by lactating dairy cows grazing a perennial ryegrass-white clover sward was studied. Synchronization was defined as the number of pairs of cows engaged in a particular activity as a proportion

Phase Evolution Kinetics in Additive‐Free 19.75% Organic Photovoltaics Empowered by Solvent Vapor Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solvent vapor annealing enables kinetic control of additive‐free morphology in organic solar cells. Selective plasticization of acceptor forms an optimal fibrillar network, boosting efficiency to 19.06% (binary) and 19.75% (ternary), with ultrafast exciton dissociation and reduced recombination.

Group Size Effects on Grazing Behaviour and Efficiency in Sheep [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Range Management, 1999
Two grazing trials were conducted during early winter (January 1996) and spring (April 1996) to evaluate the effect of group size on grazing efficiency and behaviour of sheep. Three treatments were tested, large (LG), medium (MG) and small group size (SG), with 2 replicates for each treatment of 12, 9, and 6 ewes, respectively.

Submicron Metasurface Reconfigured Multiband Smart Windows

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a submicron metasurface reconfigured multiband thermochromic smart window. By integrating subwavelength nanostructures into a Fabry−Perot resonator configuration, it mitigates conventional trade‐offs to simultaneously deliver high luminous transmittance and robust solar heating and radiative cooling modulation capabilities ...
