Anisotropic structural dynamics of monolayer crystals revealed by femtosecond surface x-ray scattering

open access: yes, 2018
X-ray scattering is one of the primary tools to determine crystallographic configuration with atomic accuracy. However, the measurement of ultrafast structural dynamics in monolayer crystals remains a long-standing challenge due to a significant ...

AN INTENSIVELY GRAZED DOWNLAND LUCERNE FARM

open access: yesProceedings of the New Zealand Grassland Association, 1974
This paper describes the development of a dry Downland farm into lucerne, and the increased stocking rates and sheep performance, which gave the opportunity to purchase an additional property.

Enhancing Synaptic Plasticity and Multistate Retention of Organic Neuromorphic Devices Using Anion‐Excessive Gel Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Anion‐excessive gel‐based organic synaptic transistors (AEG‐OSTs) that can maintain electrical neutrality are developed to enhance synaptic plasticity and multistate retention. Key improvement is attributed to the maintenance of electrical neutrality in the electrolyte even after electrochemical doping, which reduces the Coulombic force acting on ...

Strain and correlation of self-organized Ge_(1-x)Mn_x nanocolumns embedded in Ge (001)

open access: yes, 2010
We report on the structural properties of Ge_(1-x)Mn_x layers grown by molecular beam epitaxy. In these layers, nanocolumns with a high Mn content are embedded in an almost-pure Ge matrix. We have used grazing-incidence X-ray scattering, atomic force and

Uniform In‐Plane Growth of Large‐Area Ultrathin Zn2(benzimidazole)4 Membrane

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multicycle, ultradilute exposure strategy enables uniform in‐plane growth of ultrathin Zn2(benzimidazole)4 membranes on graphene, suppressing bulk nucleation and defects. The resulting centimeter‐scale films deliver high H2/CO2 separation performance, and are highly reproducible.

Distribution and use of grasslands in the Czech Republic and biodiversity of invertebrates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In the Czech Republic the major focus of organic farming lies in permanent grasslands management. Animal production is mostly focused on non-milk pasture beef-raising on almost the whole farm area. By contrast conventional farms do not grass sufficiently,

Adoption of soil organic carbon-enhancing practices: A case of two watershed sites in Ethiopia. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This study aimed at identifying the factors that determine the decision to adopt and the intensity of adoption of soil organic carbon (SOC)-enhancing practices using two watershed sites in Ethiopia: Yiser (Amhara region) and Azugashube (Southern ...

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...
