Clustomesogen Showing Sub‐Zero Liquid Crystal Properties: Supramolecular Assembly Between Cs2[Mo6Ii8(OCOC2F5)6] and Hexaethylenoxide Containing Mesogenic Dimers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Associating a red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral hexanuclear molybdenum cluster compound with hexaethyleneoxide chains bearing mesogenic units on both ends leads to an emissive hybrid liquid crystal showing mesomorphism on a very unusual temperature range down to −25°C.

Do Great Apes Know Each Other's Names? Probing Great Ape Comprehension of Social Vocal Labels [PDF]

open access: yesAnimal Behavior and Cognition
Humans use proper names as vocal labels to identify and communicate with and about social agents. The comprehension of spoken proper names requires the ability to interpret socially specific verbal signals, or social vocal labels, and use cross-modal ...

Leveraging Data‐Driven and Fundamental Insights for Electrolyte Innovation in Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Using 640 curated electrolyte formulations, we apply data‐driven analysis to reveal how molecular features govern coulombic efficiency (CE) in lithium metal batteries. Fluorine content correlates positively with CE, while oxygen, carbon, and higher boiling points correlate negatively.

Evidence and Interpretation in Great Ape Gestural Communication

open access: yesHumana.Mente: Journal of Philosophical Studies, 2013
Tomasello and colleagues have offered various arguments to explain why apes find the comprehension of pointing difficult. They have argued that: (i) apes fail to understand communicative intentions; (ii) they fail to understand informative, cooperative ...

Multi‐Stimuli Responsive Angstrom‐Scale Two‐Dimensional Channels of Natural Layered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Å‐scale ion channels naturally formed within the interlayers of vermiculite clay enable ionic current modulation in response to mechanical, chemical, and electrical stimuli. Coupled pressure and electric fields induce reversible streaming current (Istream) polarity inversion, which is explained by a modified surface charge regulation model.
