Dual‐Mode Film Based on Highly Scattering Nanofibers and Upcycled Chips‐Bags for Year‐Round Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent radiative cooling devices, adaptable to various weather conditions, have the potential for year‐round energy savings. This study introduces a sustainable dual‐mode film made from polycaprolactone nanofibers and upcycled chip bags for effective thermal management.

Protocol for monitoring and analyzing pheromone-mediated behavioral response of sea lamprey in a natural system

open access: yesSTAR Protocols
Summary: Olfactory-mediated behaviors in fish are often examined in artificial microcosms that enable well-controlled treatments but fail to replicate environmental and social contexts. However, observing these behaviors in nature poses challenges. Here,

Hoe om in te kom en hoe om binne te bly – die “groot sendingopdrag” aan die kerk vandag volgens Matteus 28:16-20

open access: yesHTS Teologiese Studies/Theological Studies, 2006
Getting in and staying in – the “great commission” to the present-day church according to Matthew 28:16-20 In this article the phrases “getting in” and “staying in” relate to the technical term “covenantal nomism”.

Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

Uniting Church And Family In The Great Commission

open access: yes, 2020
The family and the Church are two institutions founded by God himself. As an institution consisting of family and church believers complement each other in carrying out the Great Commission. But in its journey the burden of carrying out the mission is often left to the church, many families do not carry out the Great Commission.

Fractional Skyrmion Tubes in Chiral‐Interfaced 3D Magnetic Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In chiral 3D helical magnetic nanowires, the coupling between the geometric and magnetic chirality provides a way to create topological spin states like vortex tubes. Here, it is demonstrated how the breaking of this coupling in interfaced 3D nanowires of opposite chirality leads to even more complex topological spin states, such as fractional ...

Combinatorial Synthesis of Next Generation Water‐Soluble Quaternized N‐Halamine Oligomers with Long‐Lasting Antiviral Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A combinatorial library of dual‐functional antiviral oligomers incorporating N‐halamine and quaternary ammonium functionalities is developed for long‐lasting antiviral activity. The lead materials exhibit rapid and durable antiviral activity against SARS‐CoV‐2 variants and influenza H1N1, with 4 to 5 log reduction in viral copies at 5 mg mL−1 ...

Understanding Decoherence of the Boron Vacancy Center in Hexagonal Boron Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
State‐of‐the‐art computations unravel the intricate decoherence dynamics of the boron vacancy center in hexagonal boron nitride across magnetic fields from 0 to 3 T. Five distinct regimes emerge, dominated by nuclear spin interactions, revealing optimal coherence times of 1–20 µs in the 180–350 mT range for isotopically pure samples.
