How better monetary statistics could have signaled the financial crisis [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper explores the disconnect of Federal Reserve data from index number theory. A consequence could have been the decreased systemic-risk misperceptions that contributed to excess risk taking prior to the housing bust.

Controlled Release of Human Dental Pulp Stem Cell‐Derived Exosomes from Hydrogels Attenuates Temporomandibular Joint Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Exosomes can reduce tissue damage in temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA), but rapid clearance limits their efficacy. This study encapsulates exosomes in hyaluronic acid hydrogels for controlled release. In a rat model, hydrogel‐encapsulated exosomes outperform free exosomes in preserving bone integrity and reducing tissue destruction ...

Hollow‐Structured Nanorobot with Excellent Magnetic Propulsion for Catalytic Pollutant Degradation, Anti‐Bacterial and Biofilm Removal

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A hollow‐structured Fe3O4@AgAu@PDA‐ZnPc nanosphere has been developed, exhibiting controllable catalytic activity and “photothermal‐photodynamic‐Ag+” coupling antibacterial characteristics. When subjected to a rotating magnetic field, these performances are uniquely enhanced by magnetic propulsion, allowing the nanosphere to function as a magnetic ...

Indeterminate Equilibria in New Keynesian DSGE Model: An Application to the US Great Moderation [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper tests “Bad Policy” Hypothesis which refers to the Great Moderation in the US. We examine this hypothesis by simulating model based impulse response functions for the both pre-Volcker period and post 1982 period.

Explaining the Great Moderation: Credit in the Macroeconomy Revisited [PDF]

open access: yes
This study in recent history connects macroeconomic performance to financial policies in order to explain the decline in volatility of economic growth in the US since the mid-1980s, which is also known as the ‘Great Moderation’.

Dendrimer Conjugates with PD‐L1‐Binding Peptides Enhance In Vivo Antitumor Immune Response

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In this paper, a novel nanoparticle scaffold composed of dendrimers conjugated with peptide‐based immune checkpoint inhibitors, enhancing drug delivery efficacy is introduced. By conjugating PD‐L1‐binding peptides to dendrimers, multivalent binding effects are harnessed, resulting in enhanced binding affinity, prolonged half‐life, and improved ...

Are the High-growth Recovery Periods Over? [PDF]

open access: yes
We present evidence about the loss of the so-called ?plucking effect?, that is, a high-growth phase of the cycle typically observed at the end of recessions.

Immunosuppressive Cytokine‐Tethered Hydrogel for Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An injectable hydrogel is developed by chemically tethering IL‐4, an immunosuppressive cytokine, to a hyaluronic acid‐based backbone. The hydrogel reduces joint friction and exerts immunomodulatory effects. In a rheumatoid arthritis (RA) mouse model, it reduced inflammation, preserved cartilage, and promoted anti‐inflammatory immune responses.
