Interventions for great saphenous vein incompetence
Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2021Great saphenous vein (GSV) incompetence, causing varicose veins and venous insufficiency, makes up the majority of lower-limb superficial venous diseases. Treatment options for GSV incompetence include surgery (also known as high ligation and stripping), laser and radiofrequency ablation, and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy.

Blunt traumatic great saphenous vein pseudoaneurysm
Journal of Clinical Ultrasound, 2018AbstractTraumatic venous pseudoaneurysm is extremely rare. Only two cases of great saphenous venous (GSV) pseudoaneurysm have been reported. We present a case in which a gradually enlarged mass occurred at the calf after local injury. It was nonpulsatile and varied in size with posture. It was initially misdiagnosed by contrast MRI.

Leiomyosarcoma of the great saphenous vein
International Orthopaedics, 1992Primary malignant tumours of the great saphenous vein are extremely rare with only 15 cases reported in the English literature since 1919. We report a patient who survived 5.5 years after treatment with surgery and chemotherapy before dying from lung metastases.

Leiomyosarcoma of the great saphenous vein
Australasian Radiology, 2006SummaryPeripheral vascular leiomyosarcomas are rare. A case of leiomyosarcoma of the great saphenous vein diagnosed pre‐surgically by MRI and fine‐needle aspiration is presented. Characteristics of the tumour and imaging features are discussed.

Cardiac metastasis of great saphenous vein leiomyosarcoma
Journal of Cardiac Surgery, 2020We present a case with cardiac metastasis of the great saphenous vein leiomyosarcoma (LMS) that presented to the emergency department with dyspnea and palpitations 2 months ago. In this patient, hemodynamic instability was caused by an extensive right ventricular cavity and outflow tract invasion of the LMS. Treatment of the patient included incomplete

Primary great saphenous varicose veins revisited
World Journal of Surgery, 1986Our knowledge of the prevalence, pathogenesis, and treatment of primary great saphenous varicose veins has been reviewed. There is now evidence that potentially correctable environmental factors contribute importantly to the development of primary varicose veins, but what these factors are is not known.

Great Saphenous Vein Endovenous Treatment
2021Treatment methods for addressing great saphenous venous insufficiency have evolved over the past several decades. The standard treatment technique for saphenous insufficiency for many years involved surgical ligation at the saphenofemoral junction (SFJ) and stripping of the great saphenous vein (GSV).

More great saphenous vein valves - less varicose veins?
Vasa, 2014Background: In patients with chronic venous disease (CVD) the number of venous valves and the degree of valve deterioration have not been extensively investigated and are poorly understood. The aim of this prospective study was to quantitatively and qualitatively investigate the venous valves in CVD patients in view of their clinical classification ...
