Geothermally warmed habitats provide a unique opportunity to test for routes of thermal adaptation in a natural warming experiment. We used a reciprocal transplant experiment to test for fitness consequences of morphological variation found in threespine sticklebacks (Gasterosteus aculeatus) originating from geothermal and cold habitats.
