ABSTRACT The non‐rationalist view of morality holds that all employees—including “good” apples—are liable to do bad because they are susceptible to moral biases in everyday situational encounters. In contrast, the rationalist or trait view suggests that employees with strong moral character should be resilient against moral biases across situations and

Abstract Purpose Obesity is a major risk factor for knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Bariatric surgery (BAS) effectively induces weight loss, but some of these patients subsequently require knee arthroplasty (KA) despite substantial weight reduction. However, the impact of prior BAS on the risk of reintervention, antibiotic use and mortality following KA ...

Abstract Background Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) has shown mitochondrial and neuroprotective effects and has been proposed as a treatment for Parkinson's disease (PD). However, population‐level evidence on its effect on PD risk is lacking. Objectives To compare the risk of incident PD among UDCA initiators versus matched non‐initiators within a ...

We present DataEX_Sc, a specialized model for parsing scatter plots, to make valuable contributions to data‐driven materials science. It improves accuracy by 0.23 (absolute F1 gain when relative error threshold = 0.02) over full‐automatic tools and boosts efficiency by 80% compared with semi‐automated tools.

ABSTRACT Conventional fault‐diagnosis methods, largely grounded in one‐dimensional signal analysis and linear modeling, often fail to detect complex nonlinear faults in rotating machinery operating under variable loads. Data‐driven approaches also face challenges in extracting discriminative information from high‐dimensional multisensor measurements ...

Murders committed in greed are first degree murders in relation to the motive of execution. Excitation from which a criminal offense is committed, is in fact part of the motif of execution, and this explain the reasons why did a perpetrator committed ...

A Novel Two‐Stage Flexible Flow Shop Batch Scheduling Model for Grinding Workshops
ABSTRACT The growing need for data storage in data centers has increased the demand for mechanical hard disks due to their low cost and high reliability. Aluminum substrates are the most popular base plates for mechanical hard disks because of their high hardness and low cost.

Multi‐Agent Reinforcement Learning for Joint Police Patrol and Dispatch
ABSTRACT Police patrol units need to split their time between performing preventive patrol and being dispatched to serve emergency incidents. In the existing literature, patrol and dispatch decisions are often studied separately. We consider joint optimization of these two decisions to improve police operations efficiency and reduce response time to ...
