Modeling of Infiltration from An Artificial Recharge Basin with a Decreasing Ponded Depth

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Engineering Sciences, 1991
The first important physical process in basin recharge is the infiltration of water from the basin's bed to the water table below. The Green and Ampt approach was applied to model infiltration from an artificial recharge basin with a decreasing ponded ...

Interest and effort in learning and performance

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Psychology, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 593-611, June 2026.
Abstract Background Interest and effort are key motivational constructs in educational psychology, yet their interplay in learning remains underexplored. Building on Dewey's (Interest and effort in education, 1913) view that effort complements interest in fostering academic achievement, this research examines their relationship across different ...

The site‐specific selection of the infiltration model based on the global dataset and random forest algorithm

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, 2021
The selection of the infiltration equation is important in various water research and management fields. Different infiltration equations were found to perform better than others in previous studies.

KAJIAN LAJU INFILTRASI PADA LERENG YANG TERTUTUP ABU VULKANIK BERDASARKAN EKSPERIMEN SKALA LABORATORIUM

open access: yesJurnal Sumber Daya Air, 2022
Indonesia has 129 active volcanoes; therefore, the volcanic-related disasters risk is relatively high. Lahar flood is a secondary post-eruption disaster, which is triggered by the rainfall due to the movement of volcanic material by the runoff. After the

Coupling Waterlogging Hazard Assessment Based on SWMM–LISFLOOD Simulation in Chaoyang River Basin of Nanning, China

open access: yesJournal of Flood Risk Management, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Urban stormwater waterlogging poses significant threats to public safety and property, making scientific and effective risk management a crucial element in China's whole‐area sponge city construction. This study evaluates waterlogging hazards in Nanning's Chaoyang River Basin using a SWMM–LISFLOOD coupled model to simulate 11 design storm ...

Application of Isotopic Information for Estimation of Parameters in Green-Ampt Infiltration Model

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2010
:Aiming at the deficiency of hydrological information in the estimation of parameters in hydrological models, based on the combination of Green-Ampt infiltration model and isotopic mixing model, parameters were estimated in Green-Ampt infiltration using ...

The phylogenetic structure of plant communities drives the belowground transmission of fungal pathogens

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 6, Page 3976-3989, June 2026.
Summary Biodiversity is known to influence disease risk, yet the pathways of pathogen transmission within plant communities remain poorly understood, especially belowground. In particular, how soil‐borne pathogens move from resident vegetation and soil to colonize new hosts is unresolved.

Effects of the Grain Size on Dynamic Capillary Pressure and the Modified Green–Ampt Model for Infiltration

open access: yesGeofluids, 2018
Darcy-scale capillary pressure is traditionally assumed to be constant. By contrast, a considerable gap exists between the measured and equilibrium capillary pressures when the same moisture saturation is considered with a high flow rate, and this gap is

Incorporation of Dynamic Capillary Pressure into the Green–Ampt Model for Infiltration

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, 2011
The Green–Ampt model describes infiltration of water into soil. A sharp front separates the saturated from the unsaturated zones, and capillary pressure is assumed to remain constant during infiltration. We generalized this model to account for a capillary pressure that depends on the flow velocity.
