A game theoretic model for dual supply chains with green and non-green products and bi-directional free-riding and carbon policy

open access: yesSupply Chain Analytics
Cap-and-trade regulation is a strategy to reduce carbon emissions (CEs). During production, CEs are reduced by green technology. In a dual-channel supply chain (DCSC), customers try a product at an offline store but purchase it online (showrooming effect)

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Optimal Financing Strategy in a Dual-Channel Supply Chain with Agricultural Product

open access: yesMathematics
This study models a two-stage agricultural supply chain consisting of a financially constrained manufacturer of agricultural products and a financially stable retailer. We examine two supply chain structures: traditional and dual channel.

Acute caffeine treatment protects the developing retina from ischemia‐induced cell death

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caffeine reduces cell death in the developing retina under ischemia (OGD). This effect does not involve BDNF upregulation or antioxidant pathways (NRF2/VEGF). Neuroprotection occurs mainly through adenosine A2A receptor antagonism, decreasing glutamate release and excitotoxicity, highlighting caffeine's potential as an acute neuroprotective agent in ...

An extended channel length microflow electrolysis cell for convenient laboratory synthesis

open access: yes, 2016
A spiral, extended channel length microflow cell designed for routine and convenient application in an organic synthesis laboratory is described. The performance of the cell is demonstrated using two syntheses and it is shown that high selectivities and ...

Optimal Strategies in Green Supply Chains When Considering Consumers’ Green Preferences and Government Subsidies

open access: yesMathematics
Green and low-carbon development of supply chains represents a practical approach to addressing climate change and enhancing corporate competitiveness. From the perspective of the relationship between policy subsidies and channel power structures, this ...

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.
