Green degree decision and pricing strategy of dual-channel supply chains

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
With the prevalence of green supply chains, the government has basic requirements for companies’ green investments and outcomes while consumers increasingly favor green products.

Dual-Exciting Central Carbon Nanoclusters for the Dual-Channel Detection of Hemin

open access: yesInorganics, 2023
Constructing optical nanoprobes with superior performance is highly desirable for sensitive and accurate assays. Herein, we develop a facile room-temperature strategy for the fabrication of green emissive carbon nanoclusters (CNCs) with dual-exciting ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Validation of Skin Perfusion Monitoring by Imaging PPG versus Laser Speckle Imaging

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering, 2023
Assessment of skin perfusion can reveal signs of deterioration and help to prevent critical states. Commonly applied clinical tests to capture skin perfusion are subjective and often hard to quantify.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Decision-Based Demosaicking Algorithm Using Bayesian Theorem

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In this paper, we introduce a new color filter array interpolation based on edge map prediction using the Bayesian theorem. The edge information obtained at the position of the green component sampled in the quincunx grid using the Bayer pattern is used ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Asymmetric color image encryption and compression based on discrete cosine transform in Fresnel domain

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2020
In this paper, a new asymmetric method is presented to encrypt and compress color images using discrete cosine transform in Fresnel domain. First, the input color image is decomposed into three channels: red, green and blue.
