Insecticides outweigh rye cover crop in triggering secondary pest outbreaks
Insecticides outweigh rye cover crop in triggering secondary pest outbreaks. Zeus Mateos‐Fierro*, Ashley Leach, Ian Kaplan. Spider mite and melon aphid outbreaks are enhanced with broad‐spectrum insecticides, while natural enemies are reduced. However, rye cover crop has little effect on either pest or natural enemy populations.

Selectivity of Entomopathogenic Fungi to Chrysoperla externa (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae)
We aimed to evaluate the selectivity of entomopathogenic fungi to larvae of Chrysoperla externa (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae). For this purpose, Beauveria bassiana (strain ESALQ PL63), Metarhizium anisopliae (strain ESALQ E9) and Metarhizium rileyi (strain ...

Attraction of the Green Lacewing Chrysoperla comanche (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) to Yeast
Many adult Chrysoperla comanche (Stephens) green lacewings were caught in traps baited with live yeast cultures during tests designed to catch olive fruit flies. All 13 yeast species tested were more attractive than the industry-standard dried torula yeast (Cyberlindnera jadinii; syn. Candida utilis). Live C.

Predation efficacy of Chrysoperla carnea on two economically important stink bugs
Larvae of the green lacewing Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) are generalist predators feeding on a range of pests in agroecosystems. Little is known about the suitability of stink bugs as prey for lacewing larvae.
