Open-source automatic extraction of Urban Green Space: Application to assessing improvement in green space access

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Abstract. Urban Green Space (UGS) is vital for improving the public health and sustainability of cities. Vector data on UGS such as open data from governments and OpenStreetMap are available for retrieval by interested users, but the availability of UGS data is still limited on global and temporal scales.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Urban Greening Through Participatory Governance: Managing Green Open Spaces in Bekasi, Indonesia

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Rapid urbanisation poses a major challenge for cities in Indonesia in maintaining green open spaces as part of sustainable urban planning. The city of Bekasi is a case in point, where despite an increase of green open spaces, this achievement has not yet met the minimum requirement. Thus, this study aims to examine the optimisation of green open spaces

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

EVALUATION OF PUBLIC SATISFACTION WITH GREEN OPEN SPACE FACILITIES IN SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE CITIES (CASE STUDY: IMAM BONJOL GREEN OPEN SPACE, PADANG)

open access: yesJICE (Journal of Infrastructural in Civil Engineering)
This study aims to evaluate the level of public satisfaction with city park facilities in Imam Bonjol Green Open Space (RTH), Padang City, as a social service provider in supporting sustainable cities. Sustainable cities include not only economic and environmental aspects, but also social aspects related to the comfort and quality of life of citizens ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

ATG4B is required for mTORC1‐mediated anabolic activity and is associated with clinical outcomes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

Evolutionary dynamics of the chloroplast genome in Daphne (Thymelaeaceae): comparative analysis with related genera and insights into phylogenetics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Comparative analysis of chloroplast genomes from 14 genera of Thymelaeaceae revealed variation in gene content, ranging from 128 to 142 genes, primarily influenced by IR expansion/contraction events and pseudogenization of ndhF, ndhI, and ndhG. Two large inversions were detected within the large single‐copy region, including a synapomorphic inversion ...
