Green Propellants Research at Alta S.p.A

2010
A summary of the activities carried out in the last four years by Alta S.p.A. on hydrogen peroxide for propulsive applications is given. In the framework of European Space Agency and Italian Government funded projects, a significant know-how on this matter has been gained by Alta in collaboration with the Universities of Messina and Pisa.

Ammonium Dinitramide (ADN) Decomposition as Green Propellant

Thermal decomposition of eco-friendly propellants such us ammonium dinitramide (ADN) aims to replace hydrazine in satellite systems. ADN, with formula [NH4]+[N(NO2)2]−, is a promising high-performance rocket propellant. It decomposes cleanly, producing gases such as NH3, H2O, NO, N2O, NO2, HONO, and HNO3, making it an attractive alternative to ammonium

Green plasticizers for multibase gun propellants (Lecture)

2007
TNO Defence, Security and Safety has a long history of research on gun propellants. Areas investigated are formulating (new ingredients, optimization), manufacturing, charge design and lifetime assessment [1,2,3,4,5]. In conventional propellants inert plasticizers are used to alter performance, processability or barrel erosion. Widely used plasticizers
