Cycling Performance of Sodium‐Metal Chloride Battery Cells and Modules Based on Iron and Zinc

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
High‐utilization sodium–metal chloride cells with a mixed‐metal Fe, Zn, NaCl cathode enable efficient high‐temperature cycling (300°C) while reducing cost and environmental impact. Near‐theoretical capacity and high efficiency are achieved in single cells.

‘Hurry Up and Get Me out of Here’: The Experience of People Under 65 Years (Still) Stuck in Aged Care

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Following the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, the Australian Government set a target for no‐one under 65 years of age to be living in residential aged care (RAC) by 2025. The numbers of young people in residential aged care (YPIRAC) have significantly declined since the start of the targets.

Complications and Clinical Outcomes Following Modified Endoscopic Denker's With Pyriform Aperture Preservation: A Prospective Analysis

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The modified endoscopic Denker's (MED) approach provides access to all maxillary sinus (MS) walls for resection of various MS and retromaxillary pathologies, but the anteromedial maxilla has historically been resected. This study determined complication rates and outcomes following MED with pyriform aperture (PA) preservation ...

Thermal Calculations for Co‐Firing of Hydrogen/Ammonia and Coal in 660‐MW Coal‐Fired Boilers

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To achieve a clean energy transition under the dual carbon goals, blending hydrogen/ammonia into pulverized coal boilers represents a key technological pathway. Different hydrogen/ammonia co‐firing ratios (5%–50%) are investigated for their impact on the thermodynamic characteristics of 660‐MW supercritical boiler at 100% and 20% boiler ...

Australian green roofs attract bees with similar functional traits, but species-specific responses to local attributes differ significantly

open access: yesBasic and Applied Ecology
Bees are important pollinators but are globally in decline due to the effects of climate and land use change, for example loss of habitat and urban heat island associated with urbanisation.

Energy consumption and heat island effect mitigation analysis of different roofs considering superposition coupling

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2023
Building energy, particularly air conditioning energy, makes for a significant fraction of overall societal energy usage. The heat island effect is a common urban environmental concern that threatens human sustainable development. Roofs, which cover more
