Contrasting Coordination- and Debromination-Driven Dimerization of Dibenzo[c,g]carbazole Derivatives on Ag(111) Visualized by STM

open access: yesCrystals
Here, we report a comparative scanning tunneling microscopy study of two brominated dibenzo[c,g]carbazole derivatives on Ag(111): 5,9-dibromo-7H-dibenzo[c,g]carbazole (DBC) and 5,9,7-tribromo-7-(4-bromobutyl)-7H-dibenzo[c,g]carbazole (BrBu-DBC).

Weakening the nuclear envelope: Lamin B receptor in melanoma metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LBR‐driven nuclear fragility supports melanoma invasion. A: Melanocyte presents low LBR (Lamin B Receptor) levels, maintaining nuclear integrity and lamina‐chromatin tethering. B: During malignant progression, upregulation of LBR clusters at the INM (Inner Nuclear Membrane) during confined migration causes local lamina weakening and cholesterol ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Green Synthesis of Nanoparticles

open access: yes5th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND APPLIED SCIENCE
Nanotechnology is a novel and developing field of study with a wide range of applications. It involves the synthesis and application of materials called nanoparticles which are having dimensions of 1-100nm. Nowadays, the production of nanoparticles (NPs) is accomplished by a broad range of physico–chemical methods.

Synergistic enhancement of electrochemical alcohol oxidation by combining NiV-layered double hydroxide with an aminoxyl radical

open access: yesNature Communications
Electrochemical alcohol oxidation (EAO) represents an effective method for the production of high-value carbonyl products. However, its industrial viability is hindered by suboptimal efficiency stemming from low reaction rates.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,
