Market Integration and Regional Green Total Factor Productivity: Evidence from China’s Province-Level Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The development of market integration has an important effect on regional green total factor productivity (GTFP). Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2008 to 2017, this paper studies the spatial effect and transmission mechanism of ...

How Green Finance Affects Green Total Factor Productivity—Evidence from China

open access: yesSustainability, 2023
Green finance is currently a key driver of China’s economic green transformation, but its impact on green total factor productivity (GTFP) mechanisms still needs further examination. Based on clarifying the theoretical mechanism of the impact of green finance on GTFP, this study uses the SBM model, which includes unexpected output, to calculate the ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

The Threshold Effect of China’s Financial Development on Green Total Factor Productivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Using the slacks-based measure (SBM) directional distance function and constructing the Luenberger productivity index, we measure the green total factor productivity (GTFP) of China’s provinces under resource and environmental restrictions.

The Effects of Board Capital on Green Innovation to Improve Green Total Factor Productivity

open access: yesSustainability, 2023
The economy’s improvement through industrial success is also leading to environmental problems such as the production of greenhouse gases and other chemicals. Since global warming has caught the attention of researchers and authorities, environmental issues are receiving more attention.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Study on the impact of green finance on green total factor productivity in forestry—evidence from China

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
China's forestry industry's ecological, economic, and social benefits have improved significantly. However, practical problems remain, such as irrational industrial structure, serious resource consumption, and low environmental transformation efficiency.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

How to Improve Industrial Green Total Factor Productivity under Dual Carbon Goals? Evidence from China [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
This paper focuses on the relationship between green credit and industrial green total factor productivity under the dual carbon target. In recent years, weather extremes that break historical extremes have occurred frequently around the world, and the ...

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.
