Modeling of greenhouse gas emission from livestock

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2016
The effects of climate change on humans and other living ecosystems is an area of on-going research. The ruminant livestock sector is considered to be one of the most significant contributors to the existing greenhouse gas (GHG) pool.

The Importance of Metal‐Organic Framework Linker Atoms for CO2 Reduction: A DFT Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using DFT, we examine the role of linker atoms in CO2 reduction on copper‐based metal organic frameworks (Cu MOFs). Our calculations reveal that linker atoms may serve as both CO2 and H‐shuttling sites and suggest linker electrostatics as a descriptor for linker activity. ABSTRACT Although the metal within the secondary building unit of a metal‐organic

Sustainable Materials Design With Multi‐Modal Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Critical mineral scarcity, high embodied carbon, and persistent pollution from materials processing intensify the need for sustainable materials design. This review frames the problem as multi‐objective optimization under heterogeneous, high‐dimensional evidence and highlights multi‐modal AI as an enabling pathway.

ROS‐Responsive Nanobubbles for Dual‐Enhanced Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Tumor Oxidative Stress

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report the development of biotinylated PEGylated bilirubin‐coated perfluoropentane (bt‐PEG‐BR@PFP) nanobubbles, a novel class of ROS‐activatable and dual‐modality contrast agents that amplify both ultrasound (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signals in response to elevated ROS.

Impact of Corona Crisis on European Climate Change Policy

open access: yesWirtschaftsdienst, 2020
The actual Corona crisis has a negative impact on the economic situation of the affected economies. This has direct consequences for the EU-wide trading of greenhouse gas emission allowances, which is an important building block of European climate ...

Mass‐Transport–Engineered CCM Architecture Employing MPL‐Free Carbon Paper and Graphene‐Coated Ni Foam Channels for High‐Temperature PEM Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A CCM‐based architectural strategy is introduced for high‐temperature PEM fuel cells, enabling MPL‐free carbon paper gas diffusion layers via decal‐transfer processing. By co‐engineering the CCM, GDL, and a G‐foam flow field, oxygen transport is enhanced while phosphoric‐acid leakage is suppressed, resulting in high power density and stable operation ...
