Do Inner Greenland's Melt Rate Dynamics Approach Coastal Ones? [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The Greenland Ice Sheet may be nearing a tipping point, transitioning to permanent melting. This article analyses two melt rate time series using the Bayesian Langevin estimation (BLE), providing further evidence for destabilizing melt dynamics, along with new insights from the method's nonlinear parameterisation.

Through-life modelling of nano-satellite power system dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents a multi-fidelity approach to finding optimal, mission-specific power system configurations for CubeSats. The methodology begins with propagation of the orbit elements over the mission lifetime, via a continuous-time model, accounting ...

Popfinder: A Highly Effective Artificial Neural Network Package for Genetic Population Assignment

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ability to assign biological samples to source populations with high accuracy and precision based on genetic variation is important for numerous applications from ecological studies through wildlife conservation to epidemiology. However, population assignment when genetic differentiation is low is challenging, and methods to address this ...

Neither dust nor black carbon causing apparent albedo decline in Greenland\u27s dry snow zone: Implications for MODIS C5 surface reflectance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Remote sensing observations suggest Greenland ice sheet (GrIS) albedo has declined since 2001, even in the dry snow zone. We seek to explain the apparent dry snow albedo decline.

Storylines: A science‐based method for assessing and measuring future physical climate‐related financial risk

open access: yesAccounting &Finance, EarlyView.
Abstract Regulators increasingly require organisations to disclose their climate‐related financial risks. Most future physical climate risks present unique challenges, however, as their likely occurrence and consequence cannot be quantified with veracity at business‐relevant scales.

A hidden succession revealed: Cretaceous and Paleocene sediments and a native-iron-bearing lava flow in cores near Qullissat, Disko, West Greenland

open access: yesGEUS Bulletin
Over long stretches of the north-east coast of Qeqertarsuaq (Disko), the sediments in the Nuussuaq Basin and their relations to the volcanic rocks are concealed beneath numerous landslides. Two cores south of Qullissat drilled by Falconbridge Ltd in 1994,
