Segmenting Traffic Scenes from Grey Level and Motion Information
Pattern Analysis & Applications, 2001This paper is concerned with an efficient estimation and segmentation of 2D motion from image sequences, with the focus on traffic monitoring applications. In order to reduce the computational load to achieve real-time implementation, the proposed approach makes use of simplifying assumptions that the camera is stationary, and that the projection of ...

Modified Grey-level Models for Active Shape Model Training
2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006Active Shape Model (ASM) is a popular statistical shape model for objects localization. It combines a Point Distribution Model (PDM) and local grey-level model of each landmark point to achieve reliable and accurate result in image interpretation.

Grey level linearising circuit for computer-interfaced display devices
Physics in Medicine and Biology, 1989An earlier paper by the authors on the linearisation of computer-interfaced display devices has described a radiometric procedure for quantifying device non-linearity and a software technique for using the data to linearise screen luminance with respect to display grey level.

Quantifying deterioration of bone tissue from grey-level images
Medical Engineering & Physics, 2007Quantification of the severity of the deterioration in bone tissue is an important diagnostic problem involving the assessment of connectedness of the tissue from its grey-level images. In this study a fuzzy parameter was introduced for quantifying the severity of discontinuities of network-like structures. For each two pixels of an analyzed image, the

Analogue Grey Level in SSFLCD by Varying Surface Anchoring
Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1999Abstract In this paper we present a new possibility to obtain analogue grey level in surface stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystal displays (SSFLCD). Our simulation results show that the switching time under a certain applied voltage can be changed by varying the surface anchoring coefficient.

Sketch based coding of grey level images
Signal Processing, 1988Abstract We present an algorithm for data compression of grey level images based on coding geometric and grey level information of the contours in the image. From this sketch information alone an intelligible grey level image can be reconstructed.

Hierarchical Shape Analysis in Grey-level Images
1994The problem of parallel, bottom-up construction of hierarchical structures adapted to the content of an input image is addressed. This principle is essential in image analysis and understanding. For each level of the structure, which is related to a resolution level, the region adjacency graph of a segmentation of the input image is defined.

Automatic contrast enhancement using Selective Grey-Level Grouping
International Journal of Signal and Imaging Systems Engineering, 2010In this paper, we introduce a method called Automatic Selective Grey-Level Grouping (ASGLG), which enables automatic contrast enhancement of an image based on the principle of transforming the skewed histogram of the original image into a uniform histogram after the recent work on Selective Grey-Level Grouping (SGLG) of the image by Chen et al. (2006a).

An Algorithm for Grey-Level Transformations in Digitized Images
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1977Grey-level transformations on digitized images are variously used to minimize storage requirements or to enhance low-level contrast information. A graph-theoretic approach is proposed to implement these transformations. In particular, an efficient algorithm is given for transformation leading to almost uniform grey-level distribution.
