Inspired by the sophisticated multilayer retinal architecture found in Pacific salmon eyes, a novel van der Waals heterojunction sensor based on NbNiTe5/BP is designed. Upon illumination at distinct wavelengths of 365 and 820 nm, the device exhibits distinctive bipolar photocurrent responses with opposite polarities. This unique optoelectronic behavior

A Gut‐Brain Axis Underlying Succinate‐Associated Compulsive‐Like Behavior
Gut‐derived succinate is associated with an excitatory‐inhibitory imbalance in dmPFC glutamatergic neurons, involving microglial SUCNR1 activation and vagal afferent signaling via upregulated gut 5‐HT4 receptors along the DVC‐CeA‐dmPFC circuit, changes that are linked to excessive compulsive‐like behavior.

Strengthening Constitutive Motifs in Isotropic Fibrous Hydrogel for Exceptional Damage Resistance
An orientation‐free strategy is reported for fabricating damage‐resistant hydrogels by strengthening constitutive motifs in isotropic fibrous (IF) networks. Through nonsolvent quenching followed by salting‐out, IF networks are generated and their multiscale constituents are subsequently reinforced, yielding dense and crystalline isotropic nanofiber ...

Retrospective Grid Cells in the Medial Entorhinal Cortex Encode Past Paths During Spatial Navigation
Retrospective grid cells are identified in the medial entorhinal cortex, with spatial firing patterns that become most grid‐like when activity is projected onto recently traversed locations. Their coding loses spatial precision in darkness and is disrupted during assisted movement, indicating that entorhinal representations incorporate recent path ...

Programmable Self‐Heating Microneedle Patch for on‐Demand Postprandial Glucose Management
A programmable self‐heating microneedle patch enables on‐demand, timed‐sequence insulin delivery via user‐triggered quadrant activation. Each activation generates localized heat that melts a phase‐change barrier, accelerating drug release. In diabetic rats, sequential quadrant activation counteracts four meal‐mimicking glucose spikes over 24 h without ...

Fast charging drives graphite anodes far from equilibrium, yet where lithium plating begins has remained hidden. Operando optical microscopy here reveals that neighboring regions advance through the staging sequence asynchronously, and that domains reaching advanced lithiation earliest become the preferential sites where plating initiates.

MN•CS•IO System: Cross‐Species Study for HBB Function in High‐Altitude Hypoxia Adaptation
We developed an integrative mesh‐nanorod sorting, chitosan nanoparticle delivery, and intraosseous injection (MN•CS•IO) system to investigate HBB in high‐altitude hypoxia adaptation. Transplanting Tibetan animals' HBB‐modified Lin‐ cells into mice achieved 95.59% transfection efficiency and 8.15% HBB expression. High‐altitude HBB recipients upregulated

Hippocampal CA2 perineuronal nets ensheathing excitatory pyramidal neurons are selectively vulnerable to repeated neonatal sevoflurane exposure. Epigenetic upregulation of MMP9 via reduced H3K27me3 disrupts PNN integrity, impairs BDNF–TrkB signaling, and causes synaptic protein loss and dendritic spine deficits, leading to persistent social and spatial
