Tracking Battery Microstructural Degradation Through Directional Thermal Transport Signatures
In lithium‐ion batteries, heat conduction varies between the through‐plane and in‐plane directions because of the cell's layered structure. Therefore, cell degradation influences thermal conductivity in each direction uniquely due to detailed microstructural and compositional changes.

Lipoprotein‐mimicking nanoparticles (SL‐NPs), comprising Fe3O4@SiO2 cores coated with liposomal bilayers, selectively capture lipoproteins through protein corona formation. The resulting SL‐NP‐lipoprotein complexes can be removed by low‐speed centrifugation, thereby enhancing the purity of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) isolated from human serum ...

There and back again – The return of the nasal mite Halarachne halichoeri to seals in German waters
The nasal mite Halarachne halichoeri (Acari; Halarachnidae) is adapted to live in the marine environment with pinnipeds as its primary host and can cause different levels of upper respiratory disease in both harbour seals (Phoca vitulina) and grey seals (

Embedded Direct Ink Writing of Thermoset and Elastomeric Polymers via Frontal Polymerization
Embedded frontal polymerization direct ink writing (FP‐DIW) combines frontal ring‐opening metathesis polymerization with embedded 3D printing to decouple deposition from curing. A yield‐stress support bath stabilizes low‐viscosity inks, while on‐demand thermal initiation enables controlled front propagation. This approach expands the accessible feature

Status of grey seals along mainland Europe from the Southwestern Baltic to France
The grey seal was a common species along mainland Europe during the Stone Age (8,000-5,500 BC). Along the North Sea coast populations started to decline substantially during the 11th century as a result of excessive hunting. The last breeding populations

Variation of blubber thickness for three marine mammal species in the southern Baltic Sea
Evaluating populational trends of health condition has become an important topic for marine mammal populations under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD). In the Baltic Sea, under the recommendation of Helsinki Commission (HELCOM), efforts have

Nitride MXenes remain constrained by a persistent gap between computational prediction and experimental realization. This Review identifies the thermodynamic, kinetic, and chemical barriers limiting their synthesis, critically evaluates emerging fabrication routes, and proposes a multidimensional computational‐experimental framework to accelerate the ...

Evidence that grey seals (Halichoerus grypus) use above-water vision to locate baited buoys
Fishing gear in the Baltic is often raided by grey seals (Halichoerus grypus). The seals remove the fish and damage the nets, or entangle themselves and drown.
