Dielectric‐Confinement‐Induced in‐Plane Photoelectric Anisotropy in Isotropic Quasi‐1D γ‐GaS Nanoribbon

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate the geometry‐governed optoelectronic anisotropy arising from dielectric confinement in quasi‐1D γ‐GaS nanoribbons with intrinsically isotropic atomic structures. Dielectric mismatch between the nanoribbon and its surroundings leads to a general polarization‐dependent photoresponse during near‐field scattering.

Beyond Percolation: Graphene‐Enabled Network Reinforcement Enhances Thermal Transport in Paraffin Phase‐Change Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Expanded‐graphite/graphene‐nanoplatelet hybrids deliver a near‐order‐of‐magnitude thermal‐conductivity enhancement in paraffin phase‐change materials. A microCT‐informed 3D modeling framework resolves the percolating EG backbone and captures sub‐voxel GNP enrichment, quantitatively linking microstructure to heat flow and revealing a graphene‐enabled ...

Extra Climate Benefits From Afforestation Due to Reduced Forest Fragmentation in China

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Afforestation in China reduced forest fragmentation in 2015, transforming 51.8 M ha of edge forests into interior forests. This enhanced carbon sequestration (1.4±0.2 Pg CO2e, a cooling biogeochemical effect), while reduced albedo (−0.9 Pg CO2e, a warming biophysical effect) partially offset the gain, yielding a net extra climate benefit of ...

Grid connection of Modular Multilevel converter

2016 IEEE 1st International Conference on Power Electronics, Intelligent Control and Energy Systems (ICPEICES), 2016
This paper presents the detailed understanding of Modular Multilevel converters for its applications in HVDC and FACTS. Along with this, mathematical model of the converter in state space representation is presented. Scalability and modular nature of this configuration are making it a promising VSI topology in high power applications.

IRREVERSIBLE BIFURCATION PHENOMENON IN POWER-GRID CONNECTED CONVERTER SYSTEMS

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2012
Three-phase voltage source converters (VSC) are commonly used to convert ac power from a three-phase grid to a regulated dc voltage with unity input power factor. The control of the VSC is normally achieved by an outer voltage feedback loop and a sinusoidal pulse-width-modulated (SPWM) inner current loop.

Adaptive current control for grid-connected converters with LCL-filter

2009 35th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2009
This paper presents a discrete-time adaptive current controller for grid-connected pulse width modulation voltage source converters with LCL filter. The main attribute of the proposed current controller is that, in steady state, the damping of the LCL resonance does not depend on the grid characteristic since the adaptive feedback gains ensure a ...

A new bidirectional isolated converter for grid connection

2010 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2010
This paper proposes a bidirectional isolated AC-AC converter for grid connection of various loads or energy sources. The converters can be utilized for interfacing renewable energy sources to the grid as well as traditional motor drives. It does not employ any line-frequency transformer, large electrolytic capacitors, and inductors to diminish the ...

Enhanced DC-Link Voltage Dynamics for Grid-Connected Converters

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2022
Three-Phase converters are controlled to achieve sinusoidal currents in the grid side and tight voltage regulation in the DC-link. Linear controllers based on small-signal models is a well-established solution for these converters. However, the dynamic performance can be improved only to a limited extent and it deteriorates under different operating ...

Sensorless Control of a Grid-Connected PV Converter

2006 12th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2006
The base of our new developed grid-connected PV converter is a low cost general purpose frequency converter. In spite of the lack of voltage sensors a very reliable anti-island protection is reached. In the first section a control structures of the grid-connected converter with UVOC (Utility Voltage Oriented Control) is given while in the second ...
