Fault contribution of grid-connected inverters

2009 IEEE Electrical Power & Energy Conference (EPEC), 2009
The distribution grid is mainly built on a radial configuration where power is coming from one transformer substation to supply clients. Up to recently, in the rare cases where distributed generation existed, it was almost exclusively constituted of rotating machines, which have quite a different behaviour under fault than inverter-based sources ...

Enhanced utilization of grid-connected inverter

2015 IEEE 6th International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG), 2015
Smooth mode transfer of voltage source inverter (VSI) between grid-connected and stand-alone modes is achieved by operating the inverter in voltage control mode (VCM). However, this operation produces some adverse practical issues such as requirement of large rating VSI, limited real power injection by VSI, negligible operational capability in strong ...

Design of a Seamless Grid-Connected Inverter for Microgrid Applications

IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2020
The objective of this paper is to propose a seamless grid-connected inverter (SGI) for microgrid applications. The proposed SGI is able to operate in the grid-connected mode or the standalone mode. In order to smooth the transfer transition from the grid-connected mode to the standalone mode and to isolate the microgrid from the grid fault immediately ...

Novel grid-connected photovoltaic inverter

IEE Proceedings - Generation, Transmission and Distribution, 1996
Detailed analysis and simulation results of a novel solar photovoltaic inverter configuration interconnected to the grid are presented. From the simulation results it is confirmed that the harmonic distortion of the output current waveform of the inverter fed to the grid is within the stipulated limits laid down by the utility companies.

A grid connected current source inverter.

2009 International Conference on Clean Electrical Power, 2009
In Co-generation systems are required converters able to inject current with low harmonic content, traditionally the inverters are considered. In this paper is proposed to use the current source inverter instead of voltage source inverter, this type of inverters can accept a low input voltage to inject current to the ac mains. The operation, simulation

Droop PLL for grid-connected inverter

Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2012
Using grid voltage feed-forward control, the current-loop parameters and filter inductor affect the power factor of grid-connected inverter. Based on droop phase-locked loop (PLL) a novel control strategy is proposed. The phase difference between the grid current and grid voltage is detected and is used to calculate the output frequency of PLL.

A single-phase grid-connected PV inverter with improved grid-connected current

The 27th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (2015 CCDC), 2015
This paper presents an effective method, which can address the existing dc-link double-line-frequency voltage ripples in single-phase grid-connected PV inverters, to improve the grid-connected current. The instantaneous power pulsations at grid side cause double-line-frequency fluctuations of the dc-link voltage in single-phase grid-connected PV ...

Two-stage grid-connected inverter for PV systems

2018 IEEE 12th International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering (CPE-POWERENG 2018), 2018
In this study, a two-stage grid-connected inverter is proposed for photovoltaic (PV) systems. The proposed system consist of a single-ended primary-inductor converter (SEPIC) converter which tracks the maximum power point of the PV system and a three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) with LCL filter to export the PV supplied energy to the grid.
