Stability Boundary Characterization and Power Quality Improvement for Distribution Networks

open access: yesEnergies
With the increasing proportion of distributed generators (DGs), distribution networks usually include grid forming (GFM) and grid following (GFL) converters.

Cryo‐EM of Rationally Designed Photosystem I Nanoassembly on Graphene Validates Orientation‐Driven Enhancement of Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The first cryo‐EM visualization and quantification of oriented Photosystem I (PSI) on single‐layer graphene is reported. Domain‐specific covalent anchoring of PSI, with the reducing side of the biophotocatalyst toward graphene, promotes three‐fold higher anodic photocurrent generation compared to a randomly physisorbed counterpart. This approach allows

Unveiling Phonon Contributions to Thermal Conductivity and the Applicability of the Wiedemann—Franz Law in Ruthenium and Tungsten Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal transport in Ru and W thin films is studied using steady‐state thermoreflectance, ultrafast pump–probe spectroscopy, infrared‐visible spectroscopy, and computations. Significant Lorenz number deviations reveal strong phonon contributions, reaching 45% in Ru and 62% in W.

Dynamic Interactions Between Inverter-Based Resources and Synchronous Generators: A Comparative Study for Cascading Failure Risk

open access: yesIEEE Access
The increasing integration of inverter-based resources (IBRs) alongside traditional synchronous generators (SGs) presents new challenges for maintaining stability and resilience in modern power systems.

Decoupling Size and Electronic Effects in Doped SrTiO3 Photocatalysts Through Surface Area–Normalized CO2 Hydrogenation Rates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Exploring the photocatalytic reverse water–gas shift (RWGS) reaction on doped SrTiO3 nanoparticle films, reveals that normalizing catalytic rates by the catalyst's specific surface area (SSA) disentangled surface area effects from the catalyst's intrinsic material properties.

Effect of grid‐following VSCs on frequency distribution of power grid

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
The increasing penetration of grid‐following voltage source converters (GFL‐VSCs) in the power grid has changed the frequency dynamics of the system.
