X-ray tomography by grid coding

Applied Optics, 1980
Three-dimensional objects are coded using a crossbar grid by an array of simultaneously flashed x-ray tubes. This is a new version of flashing tomosynthesis. The technique is experimentally tested using radiographs of a heart phantom.

A Grid Version of the Fusion Code FAFNER

2010 18th Euromicro Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Network-based Processing, 2010
FAFNER is code developed by Lister which simulates by Monte Carlo methods the Neutral Beam Injection (NBI) technology, one of the most extended heating methods for fusion devices. To the date, FAFNER has been usually run at CIEMAT adapted to the TJ-II helical axis stellarator on shared memory Cray architecture machines.

Compliance of Grid-Forming Requirements of Grid Codes With a Type III Wind Turbine Controlled as a Virtual Synchronous Machine

IEEE transactions on energy conversion
Wind turbines equipped with grid-forming capability will play an important role in future power systems and the virtual synchronous machine (VSM) control method is frequently used to control these devices.

GRID codes

ACM Transactions on Storage, 2009
As storage systems grow in size and complexity, they are increasingly confronted with concurrent disk failures together with multiple unrecoverable sector errors. To ensure high data reliability and availability, erasure codes with high fault tolerance are required.

Modelling of a wave-to-wire system for a wave farm and its response analysis against power quality and grid codes

, 2020
A single wave energy converter (WEC) produces a low and fluctuating power, and the use of a permanent magnet linear generator (PMLG) as an electric power take-off unit can make the situation worse because the power produced from a PMLG varies with each ...

The Cactus Code: a problem solving environment for the grid

Proceedings the Ninth International Symposium on High-Performance Distributed Computing, 2002
Cactus is an open source problem solving environment designed for scientists and engineers. Its modular structure facilitates parallel computation across different architectures and collaborative code development between different groups. The Cactus Code originated in the academic research community, where it has been developed and used over many years

Bounds for Codes Identifying Vertices in the Hexagonal Grid

SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, 2000
In an undirected graph \(G=(V,E)\), a subset \(C\) of \(V\) is called an identifying code of the sets \(B_1(v)\cap C\) consisting of all elements of \(C\) within distance one from the vertex \(v\) if these sets are nonempty and different. The authors take as \(G\) the infinite hexagonal grid graph and show that the density of any identifying code is at

Investigation and Emulation of Junction Temperature for High-Power IGBT Modules Considering Grid Codes

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2018
Grid-connected converters in wind turbine systems play a more active role in the future power grid dispatching for fulfilling specified grid codes. Hence, the diversified demands and faults from grid sides bring more intense thermal fatigue to the power ...

Grid code compliance of grid-side converter in wind turbine systems

2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006
Until recently, there were no specific requirements in the grid codes for connecting the wind turbines/farms to the electrical network. Nowadays the power system operators e.g. in Denmark, Germany and Spain, have started to issue new grid codes addressed to wind turbines/farms.

Grid Codes: Goals and Challenges

2014
Electric power has always been one of the driving forces for progress in human life. This has popularized electric energy as the most utilized form of energy. However, dispersed locations of energy resources and continuously increasing demand of electricity have led to a large electric power transmission network across the landscape.
