CloudVMI: A Cloud-Oriented Writable Virtual Machine Introspection

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
IoT generates considerable amounts of data, which often requires leveraging cloud computing to effectively scale the costs of transferring and computing these data. The concern regarding cloud security is more severe because many devices are connected to

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

A Fine-Grained Multi-Tenant Permission Management Framework for SDN and NFV

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Although software defined network (SDN) has been widely recognized for several years, it still has not addressed security issues regarding permission management on SDN controller, one lack of which is the effective permission allocation of application ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.
