Fault detection in metallic grid scattering

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2011
The canonical problem of detecting and localizing missing scatterers (faults) inside a known grid of small cross section perfect electric conducting cylinders is dealt with. The case of a TM scalar two-dimensional geometry is considered. The scattering by a fault is modeled as the radiation of a proper magnetic current, by exploiting the Green's ...

Fault Tolerant Guarding of Grids

2006
In this paper we deal with one of the art gallery problems, namely the problem of fault tolerant guarding of grids, which is defined as the problem of finding two disjoint guard sets in a grid. Although determining the existence of such a structure is easy in general grids, the task of minimising the number of guards taken over both teams is shown to ...

Transparent Fault Tolerance for Grid Applications

2005
A major challenge facing grid applications is the appropriate handling of failures. In this paper we address the problem of making parallel Java applications based on Remote Method Invocation (RMI) fault tolerant in a way transparent to the programmer.

Network fault monitoring in Grid

2011 Third International Conference on Advanced Computing, 2011
Grid resources having heterogeneous architecture being geographically distributed and interconnected via unreliable network media are at the risk of failure which proves the need for an efficient fault monitoring framework. The traditional network fault monitoring systems based on the centralized client/server architecture have limited efficiency and ...

Fault Tolerant Grid Registry

2007
Development of tools that assist efficient computing in a distributed environment is a challenging problem in modern and future Grid systems. A registry that aids searching for information about existing components of distributed applications belongs to this class of tools.

Fault Isolation in DC Grids

2020
DC fault current breaking devices are important components for enabling robust protection of the dc system. This chapter will present the ongoing developments regarding the dc fault isolation devices. There are two major trends in dc fault isolation, namely based on, dc circuit breaker (DCCB) and converter-based solution.

RT-GRID: a real-time, fault-tolerant grid model

Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies, 2003
Computational grids bring together various distributed resources belonging to different organizations, and provide a high-performance computing environment. However, there is another application category, with the requirement of time constraints and fault tolerance, which needs to be processed in such a high-performance platform.

Control of Grid Connected Converters Under Unbalanced Grid Faults

2018 IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems (PEDES), 2018
A grid connected inverter with an unbalanced voltage at the point of common coupling creates oscillation in DC link voltage at twice the grid frequency and inject highly distorted current into the grid. In this paper analytical expression for oscillation of DC link voltage and distortion in current injected to the grid are derived.
