Unraveling MXene Oxidation Mechanisms Under Realistic Gas Environments by In Situ Gas‐Cell TEM

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Real‐time visualization of MXene degradation reveals a fundamental oxidation mechanism under oxygen and moisture environments. Using in situ gas‐cell electron microscopy, this study demonstrates that oxygen degradation drives a thermodynamically controlled high‐temperature transformation into mixed rutile/anatase phases.

A Low Inrush Current Pre-Charging Strategy of M3C with Improved Nearest Level Modulation

open access: yesEnergies
The modular multilevel matrix converter (M3C) can perform AC/AC conversion directly. However, M3C operation often requires a pre-charging process, which can be challenging due to the need for fast pre-charging with low inrush current.

A Graph-Based Generation of Virtual Grids

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents a unified formal model to be used in the grid representation based on hierarchical graph structures. It aims at both helping in a better understanding of grid generation and in grid simulation problems. A new graph structure called layered graphs is proposed.

A Dual‐Functional Electrolyte Additive for Highly Reversible Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) as a dual‐function additive for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. TBAB disrupts the hydrogen‐bond network of water while TBA+ adsorbs on Zn to improve interfacial wettability and regulate Zn2+ flux, resulting in suppressed dendrite growth and parasitic reactions. This synergy extended the lifespan of Zn|

Application of Ibuprofen Sodium Dihydrate for Thermochemical Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ibuprofen sodium dihydrate is introduced as a durable organic salt hydrate for low‐temperature thermochemical energy storage, operating within 60°C–110°C with high energy density. At the material level, it delivers ∼99.9% cycling efficiency over 150 cycles without deliquescence, enabled by a dual energy‐storage mechanism coupling dehydration and phase ...

Post-Parameterization of Complex CAD-Based Aircraft-Shapes Using Freeform Deformation

open access: yes, 2002
A post-parameterization method, based on free-form deformation techniques, has been established to simplify and to automate the generation of geometrical variants from existing CAD-models, to be used for CFD analyses.

Controlled Engineering of 2D Alkali‐Iron‐Chloride Compounds and Lateral Quantum Heterostructures Within Confined Graphene Nanoreactors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a programmable atomic engineering strategy for 2D materials using Å‐scale nanoreactors formed by bilayer graphene (BLG) intercalation. A new class of alkali‐iron‐chloride compounds, along with lateral heterostructures composed of monolayer alkali halides and iron chlorides, is revealed.

Comprehensive vulnerability assessment of power system nodes with wind power based on Dagum-Gini coefficient approach

open access: yesScientific Reports
The increasing scale of wind power access to the grid makes it important to identify weak links in the system to prevent major outages. In order to analyze the vulnerability of grid nodes, this paper proposes a dynamic comprehensive evaluation method ...
