Real-Time Grid Impedance Estimation Using a Converter [PDF]
This paper presents two real-time methods for estimating the grid inductance and resistance using a three-phase converter. In the methods, a single-frequency rotating voltage signal with a small magnitude is injected to the converter voltage reference. The converter measures the currents and voltages at the point of common coupling (PCC).

Adaptive Impedance-Conditioned Phase-Locked Loop for the VSC Converter Connected to Weak Grid
In this paper, an adaptive version of the impedance-conditioned phase-locked loop (IC-PLL), namely the adaptive IC-PLL (AIC-PLL), is proposed. The IC-PLL has recently been proposed to address the issue of synchronisation with a weak AC grid by ...

Parameter Estimation of a Grid-Tied Inverter Using In Situ Pseudo-Random Perturbation Sources
Inverters are playing an increasingly important role in the electrical utility grid due to the proliferation of renewable energy sources. Obtaining inverter models with accurate parameters is, therefore, essential for grid studies and design.

Grid Impedance Estimation Using Several Short-Term Low Power Signal Injections [PDF]
In this paper, a signal processing method is proposed to estimate the low and high-frequency impedances of power systems using several short-term low power signal injections for a frequency range of 0-150 kHz.

PLL Instability of Wind Turbines During Severe Faults
Stringent grid codes require wind turbines (WTs) to remain connected even during severe faults. This can result in PLL instability and Loss of Synchronisation (LoS), which is the main subject of this paper.

Adaptive Grid Impedance Shaping Approach Applied for Grid-Forming Power Converters
This paper proposes an adaptive grid impedance shaping approach, implemented through a variable structure virtual impedance control strategy (VS-VIS), to improve the power flow control of grid-forming power converters (GF-PC).

For inverters, a phase-locked loop (PLL) is usually needed for the grid synchronization. Typically, for the single-phase inverters, the orthogonal-signal-generators based PLLs (e.g., delay-based PLL) can be used.
