Computing gravitational waves from slightly nonspherical stellar collapse to black hole: Odd-parity perturbation

open access: yes, 2003
Nonspherical stellar collapse to a black hole is one of the most promising gravitational wave sources for gravitational wave detectors. We numerically study gravitational waves from a slightly nonspherical stellar collapse to a black hole in linearized ...

Evaluating the Substitution Value of Green Electricity for Advancing Renewable Energy Development Through the Value‐Added Contributions of Iran's Petrochemical Industries: A System Dynamics Approach

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study proposes a sustainable financing model for renewable energy in Iran by channeling petrochemical profits and carbon tax revenues into feed‐in tariffs. Reallocating natural gas from low‐efficiency power plants to high‐value petrochemical production enhances economic returns while reducing CO₂ emissions.

Non-Direct Encoding Method Based on Cellular Automata to Design Neural Network Architectures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Architecture design is a fundamental step in the successful application of Feed forward Neural Networks. In most cases a large number of neural networks architectures suitable to solve a problem exist and the architecture design is, unfortunately, still ...

Reconstruction of Cluster Masses using Particle Based Lensing I: Application to Weak Lensing

open access: yes, 2008
We present Particle-Based Lensing (PBL), a new technique for gravitational lensing mass reconstructions of galaxy clusters. Traditionally, most methods have employed either a finite inversion or gridding to turn observational lensed galaxy ellipticities ...

Spin‐Crossover Modulated Luminescence in Materials and Molecular Complexes

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
The synergistic coupling of spin‐crossover and luminescent properties holds great promise for the development of multifunctional and stimuli‐responsive molecular materials. This contribution provides a comprehensive overview of the field, surveying the possible coupling mechanisms, the various synthetic strategies and their potential applicability, as ...

Hybrid method for understanding black-hole mergers: Inspiralling case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We adapt a method of matching post-Newtonian and black-hole-perturbation theories on a timelike surface (which proved useful for understanding head-on black-hole-binary collisions) to treat equal-mass, inspiralling black-hole binaries. We first introduce

Integrated CO2 Capture and Utilization: Toward Value‐Added Products

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
This review addresses this gap by categorizing integrated carbon capture and utilization (ICCU) according to C1 and C2+ products, linking catalytic strategies to industrial commodities, and identifying future research and deployment priorities to advance ICCU from laboratory innovation to commercial reality.

Distributed solar photovoltaics landscape in Uttar Pradesh, India: Lessons for transition to decentralised rural electrification

open access: yesEnergy Strategy Reviews, 2019
The energy poverty cycle continues to pose a major challenge for governments in emerging economies. Electrification has typically been delivered through centralised generation and distribution that has not always afforded equitable or efficient access ...
