Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Influence of the topology of coupled antiferromagnetic oscillators on their mutual synchronization [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Прикладная нелинейная динамика
The purpose the purpose of this study is to mathematically describe an ensemble of oscillators coupled by a common dipole field, to model and study the synchronization of the three topologies under consideration: a ring, a grid, and a special case of a ...

Microscopic Origin of Temperature‐Dependent Anisotropic Heat Transport in Ultrawide‐Bandgap Rutile GeO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rutile GeO2${\rm GeO}_{2}$ exhibits orientation‐dependent heat transport with temperature‐dependent anisotropy, showing higher cross‐plane thermal conductivity along [001] than along the equivalent in‐plane [100] and [010] directions. Temperature‐dependent TDTR measurements and first‐principles phonon calculations identify the microscopic phonon ...

Mechanical and Electrical Phenotype of hiPSC‐Cardiomyocytes on Fibronectin‐Based Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce fibronectin‐based PEG hydrogels with controlled rigidity to enable the culture of iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes. These substrates offer an alternative to the current culture of these cells on fibronectin‐coated glass, providing enhanced structural and functional behavior. The system provides a more physiologically relevant platform to assess

Grid-synchronization stability improvement of large scale wind farm during severe grid fault [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Loss of synchronization between wind farm and power grid during severe grid faults would cause wind farm tripping. In this paper, the mechanism of grid-synchronization is uncovered, described as motion of an autonomous nonlinear differential equation ...

Grid-Forming Inverter with Simplified Virtual Synchronous Compensator Providing Grid Services and Grid Support

open access: yes2021 24th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2021
This paper proposes the enhancement of the control of a grid-connected inverter by a simplified virtual synchronous compensator (S-VSC) model working in parallel with the traditional inverter current control loops. The goal of the integration of this model into the inverter control scheme is to provide grid services, such as virtual inertia behavior ...
