Is a low level of free thyroxine in the maternal circulation associated with altered endothelial function in Gestational Diabetes?

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2014
Synthesis of thyroid hormones, thyroxine (T4) and tri-iodothyronine (T3), in the human fetus starts from 17-19th weeks of gestation. Despite the majority of normal pregnant women reaching adequate levels of circulating thyroid hormones, in some cases ...

Cardiovascular action of insulin in health and disease: focus in endothelial L-arginine transport and cardiac voltage-dependent potassium channels.

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2016
The impairment of insulin signaling on diabetes mellitus has been related to cardiovascular dysfunction, heart failure and sudden death. In human endothelium, cationic amino acid transporter 1 (hCAT-1) is related to the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO ...

FEATURES OF THE CONFIGURATION OF LAKES IN THE SOUTH OF WESTERN SIBERIA IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROBLEM OF THE ORIGIN OF THE GRIVAS TOPOGRAPHY

open access: yesInterexpo GEO-Siberia, 2021
In the south of Western Siberia, there are lakes of a specific shape - teardrop-shaped, with a convex rounded side facing northeast and a pointed end-to the southwest. They are found only in the distribution area of the definite grivas relief. There is a complete gradual transition from symmetrical "drops" through to varying degrees asymmetric to ...

Insulin induces relaxation and decreases hydrogen peroxide-induced vasoconstriction in human placental vascular bed in a mechanism mediated by calcium-activated potassium channels and L-arginine/nitric oxide pathways.

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2016
Insulin induces relaxation in umbilical veins, increasing the expression of human amino acid transporter 1 (hCAT-1) and nitric oxide synthesis (NO) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Short-term effects of insulin on vasculature have been
