Flat plate electrohydrodynamic heat pipe experiments [PDF]

open access: yes
Performance capabilities of electrohydrodynamic (EHD) flat heat pipes were investigated using Freon 113 and Freon 11 as working fluids. All of the pipes employed straight rod electrodes to form axial liquid flow channels and tranverse grooves for ...

Optofluidic Raman Analysis and Capacity Recovery in Li‐ion Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Operando Raman spectroscopy is used to monitor the degradation of commercial Li‐ion cells. Using a microfluidic access port, small amounts of electrolyte are sampled into a hollow‐core optical fibre, where fibre‐enhanced Raman analysis reveals Li+ solvation changes and solvent evolution.

Topography‐Regulated Screening Platform for Myoblast Contact Guidance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study develops a topography‐regulated screening platform (12 gradients in 96‐topography‐well plate) enabling analysis of skeletal muscle morphogenesis. The topography‐induced cell morphology changed, cell polarization, and myotube differentiation, establishing an evaluative framework for generating pathologically relevant myotube phenotypes to ...
