Atlas of cortical sulcal imprints on Pan endocasts

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
This comprehensive atlas documents the frequency, position, and variability of cortical sulcal imprints across 21 extant Pan endocasts, providing the first quantitative baseline for comparative paleoneurology. This atlas serves as a reference for distinguishing ancestral from derived features in hominin brain evolution.

Advanced aqueous alteration in primitive meteorites: Micro‐ to nanoscale studies of CR1 iron sulfides

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract This study documents micro‐ to nanoscale observations of primary nebular and secondary parent body iron sulfides in the CR1 GRO 95577. Despite the extensive alteration of the bulk sample, some primary sulfides managed to avoid alteration, having originally formed in the solar nebula during chondrule formation by either fission‐sulfidization or

Investigating GERMs: how genotype, environment, and rhizosphere microbiome interactions underlie heat response in maize and sorghum

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Three genotypes – a heat‐resistant maize (Zea mays), a heat‐susceptible maize, and a sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) variety – were grown to the V4 stage in growth chambers under optimal conditions or subjected to heat stress. Plants were grown in soil containing a complex microbial community, or in the same soil with a depleted microbiome.

Garden, greenhouse, or climate chamber? Experimental conditions influence whether genetic differences are phenotypically expressed

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Expression of genetic differences depends on the experimental environment as seen in flowering time differences between ancestors and descendants that emerge in climate chambers but not in greenhouse or garden conditions. Abstract Common‐environment experiments are important to study genetically based phenotypic variation within and among plant ...
