Spatial Scaling Analysis in Gross Primary Production Estimation

2012
Spatial scaling is very important to evaluation terrestrial carbon balance. In this paper, Gross primary production (GPP) are calculated using the Region Production Efficiency Model(REG-PEM) based the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer(MODIS) and Landsat TM data, respectively, and some issues related to spatial scaling are analyzed.

Emergent constraints on historical and future global gross primary productivity

Global Change Biology
AbstractTerrestrial gross primary productivity (GPP) is the largest carbon flux in the global carbon cycle and plays a crucial role in terrestrial carbon sequestration. However, historical and future global GPP estimates still vary markedly. In this study, we reduced uncertainties in global GPP estimates by employing an innovative emergent constraint ...

Global prediction of gross primary productivity under future climate change

Science of The Total Environment
The ecosystem gross primary productivity (GPP) is crucial to land-atmosphere carbon exchanges, and changes in global GPP as well as its influencing factors have been well studied in recent years. However, identifying the spatio-temporal variations of global GPP under future climate changes is still a challenging issue.

Regionalized Determinants of Dryland Forest Gross Primary Productivity

Ecosystems may exist in alternative stable states and thereby extremely differ in ecosystem structure and functions, including gross primary productivity (GPP), which is crucial for assessing an ecosystem’s ability to capture atmospheric carbon dioxide, especially under the context of climate change.

Tropical ocean teleconnections with gross primary productivity of monsoon-Asia

Science of The Total Environment
The intricate oceanic climate interactions with terrestrial primary production of Asian ecosystems exert crucial social-economical-environmental repercussions. Yet, a holistic understanding of tropical sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies associated with the gross primary productivity (GPP) variations of monsoon-Asia remains constrained.

Diffuse radiation characterized gross primary production over the globe

Diffuse radiation, which is modulated by cloud and aerosol conditions, can have varied impacts on gross primary production (GPP), with the specific impacts depending on vegetation density, environmental conditions, and the specific physiological characteristics of plants.
