Fast soliton scattering by delta impurities
We study the Gross-Pitaevskii equation (nonlinear Schroedinger equation) with a repulsive delta function potential. We show that a high velocity incoming soliton is split into a transmitted component and a reflected component.

Optimal quantum control of Bose Einstein condensates in magnetic microtraps [PDF]
Transport of Bose-Einstein condensates in magnetic microtraps, controllable by external parameters such as wire currents or radio-frequency fields, is studied within the framework of optimal control theory (OCT).

dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Variational calculations for anisotropic solitons in dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates
We present variational calculations using a Gaussian trial function to calculate the ground state of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation and to describe the dynamics of the quasi-two-dimensional solitons in dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates.

This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Local newforms for generic representations of unramified even unitary groups I: Even conductor case
In this paper, we define compact open subgroups of quasi-split even unitary groups for each even non-negative integer and establish the theory of local newforms for irreducible tempered generic representations with a certain condition on the central ...

Age‐Related Characteristics of SYT1‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorder
ABSTRACT Objectives We describe the clinical manifestations and developmental abilities of individuals with SYT1‐associated neurodevelopmental disorder (Baker‐Gordon syndrome) from infancy to adulthood. We further describe the neuroradiological and electrophysiological characteristics of the condition at different ages, and explore the associations ...

Modeling Atom Interferometry Experiments with Bose–Einstein Condensates in Power-Law Potentials
Recent atom interferometry (AI) experiments involving Bose–Einstein condensates (BECs) have been conducted under extreme conditions of volume and interrogation time. Numerical solution of the rotating-frame Gross–Pitaevskii equation (RFGPE), which is the
