Ground Clutter Canceling with a Regression Filter [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Atmospheric and Oceanic Technology, 1999
Abstract This paper explores ground clutter filtering with a class of cancelers that use regression. Regression filters perform this task in a simple manner, resulting in similar or better performance than the fifth-order elliptic filter implemented in the WSR-88D.

Ground-Vegetation Clutter Affects Phyllostomid Bat Assemblage Structure in Lowland Amazonian Forest.

open access: goldPLoS ONE, 2015
Vegetation clutter is a limiting factor for bats that forage near ground level, and may determine the distribution of species and guilds. However, many studies that evaluated the effects of vegetation clutter on bats have used qualitative descriptions ...

Observations of anomalous propagation over waters near Sweden [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2023
Radio waves propagating in the atmosphere are affected by the prevailing atmospheric state. The state of the atmosphere can cause radio waves to refract more or less towards the ground.

The Clutter Simulation of a Known Terrain by the 3D Parabolic Equation and RCS Computation

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Ground clutter data are usually generated using a statistical model, but they cannot effectively reflect the spatial distribution characteristics of ground objects.

Distribution Characteristics of Ground Echo Amplitude and Recognition of Signal Grazing Angle

open access: yesSensors, 2021
With the continuous advancement of electronic technology, terahertz technology has gradually been applied on radar. Since short wavelength causes severe ground clutter, this paper studies the amplitude distribution statistical characteristics of the ...

Low-Altitude Windshear Wind Speed Estimation Method Based on KASPICE-STAP

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Aiming at the problem of low-altitude windshear wind speed estimation for airborne weather radar without independent identically distributed (IID) training samples, this paper proposes a low-altitude windshear wind speed estimation method based on ...

Clutter and Interference Cancellation in River Surface Velocity Measurement with a Coherent S-Band Radar

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Using a Doppler radar to measure river surface velocity is a safe and effective technique. However, the measurement would be severely affected by undesired targets that enter the illuminated area of radar. The issue is worsened when measuring the surface
