JUMP LANDING CHARACTERISTICS IN ELITE SOCCER PLAYERS WITH CEREBRAL PALSY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The aim of the present study was to analyse the parameters that characterize the vertical ground reaction force during the landing phase of a jump, and to determine the relationship among these parameters in elite soccer players with cerebral palsy (CP).

Population of Nonmetallic Inclusions in Liquid High‐Silicon Electrical Steel in Contact With MgO–C Refractories Based on Recyclates and Environmentally Friendly Binders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The formation of nonmetallic inclusions (NMIs) was investigated in this study, carrying out immersion tests for 30 min at a temperature of 1600°C with liquid high‐silicon electrical steel (Si ≈ 3 mass‐%) and different MgO–C refractories. Conventional MgO–C refractories were considered, as well as MgO–C refractories containing MgO–C recyclate and ...

Lower limb asymmetries in elite junior female vault gymnasts

open access: yesScientific Reports
Due to long-term repetitive training of specific techniques, competitive vaulting gymnasts are prone to develop lower limb functional asymmetry. The symptom of lower limb functional asymmetry can seriously impair vaulting performance and is a major ...

Investigation of Oxygen‐Free Wetting Behavior of Aluminum on Copper via Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Novel Cost-Effective and Portable Three-Dimensional Force Measurement System for Biomechanical Analysis: A Reliability and Validity Study

open access: yesSensors
The application of dynamic data in biomechanics is crucial; traditional laboratory-level force measurement systems are precise, but they are costly and limited to fixed environments.

Agreement between vertical ground reaction force and ground reaction force vector in five common clinical tests.

open access: yesJournal of musculoskeletal & neuronal interactions, 2013
Mechanography is an innovative method to evaluate lower-limb dynamic muscle function. This technique is generally performed on force platforms that measure only the vertical component of ground reaction force (GRF). The underlying assumption is that medio-lateral and antero-posterior forces do not contribute significantly to the GRF in jumping and ...

Resistance Rapid Heating of Aluminum Coatings in an Extreme High Vacuum–Adequate Atmosphere for Hot Stamping

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.

The Effect of Standard and Beveled Heels of Orthopedic Shoe on Vertical Ground Reaction Forces during Walking in Healthy Subjects

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation, 2013
Objective: in normal walking, repetitive vertical ground reaction forces are tansformed on musculo-skeletal system. Magnitude of force during impact is major contributor to overuse injuries.

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...
