Nonlinear Ground Response Analysis of Kolkata Soil
2021Seismic bed-rock motions get amplified or de-amplified depending on the overlying soil deposit and very often found to cause disaster to the overlying structures. Kolkata city is situated on a deep alluvial deposit of Gangetic basin and consists of distinct soil formations, namely, normal Kolkata deposit, consisting of a thick soft silty clay/clayey ...

Time Domain Analysis of Grounding Electrodes' Impulse Response
IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2002Lightning protection studies require estimation of grounding systems' dynamic behavior. This paper presents the results of a new methodology for calculating the lightning response of the basic component of any grounding system, the grounding electrode. Lightning strike is modeled using a double exponential time function.

Study on the Ground Response Analysis for Stiff Soil
Advanced Materials Research, 2014In order to test the applicable of the seismic response analysis procedures SHAKE2000 and LSSRLI-1 for class ІІ site, 17 stations and 35 underground strong motion records of KiK-net are selected from Class ІІ site. 210 working conditions are used to verify the applicability of the two soil seismic response analysis programs at Class ІІ site.

Introduction of Seismic Ground Response Analysis
2014Computer programs for seismic response analysis have been developed mainly in the field of structural analysis. The analysis of ground might be possible by these computer programs. However, they are not used at present. Significant difference exists in the constitutive model or stress–strain relationships. As soil shows nonlinear behavior at very small
