SKALE 2.0 maps disease‐associated protein aggregation as a phase‐resolved structural process, linking mutation‐induced geometric perturbations to nucleation, elongation, and suppressor design. Across neurodegenerative proteins, the framework reveals cryptic aggregation vulnerabilities, separates phase‐concordant and phase‐switching mutations, and ...

Ground Settlements and Dewatering
2021The excavation process causes unloading in the surrounding soil and ground settlement. Unfavorable ground movements result in detrimental effects on adjacent infrastructures, such as buildings, pipelines, roads, bridges, and tunnels.

Estimating liquefaction-induced ground settlements from CPT for level ground
Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 2002An integrated approach to estimate liquefaction-induced ground settlements using CPT data for sites with level ground is presented. The approach combines an existing CPT-based method to estimate liquefaction resistance with laboratory test results on clean sand to evaluate the liquefaction-induced volumetric strains for sandy and silty soils.

Rural Settlement Patterns on the Ground
2017Any survey of the evolution of rural settlement in the period covered by this book is restricted by the paucity of datable evidence. Closely dated archaeological excavations from the period are limited, as are extant documentary sources before 1300, particularly for Scotland. As a result, indirect means of research are necessary if any coherent picture

Prediction of ground settlement during tunnelling in water bearing ground
2009This paper presents an artificial neural network approach for prediction of tunnelling-induced ground groundwater drawdown and associated settlement during tunneling in water bearing ground. A parametric study using a calibrated 2D stress-pore pressure coupled finite element analysis was conducted to form a database concerning the settlement and ...
