The Dynamics of Interfacial Trap States in High‐Detectivity Near‐Infrared Photomultiplication Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photomultiplication organic photodetectors (PM OPDs) are an attractive strategy for health‐monitoring. Here, PM‐OPDs are reported with a specific detectivity of 5.7 × 1012 Jones and external quantum efficiency values of 3500% under −10 V. The dynamics of carrier trapping in these devices are elucidated through trap selective spectroscopical techniques.

GROUND TEMPERATURE MONITORING FOR A COAXIAL GEOTHERMAL HEAT EXCHANGERS FIELD: PRACTICAL ASPECTS AND MAIN ISSUES FROM THE FIRST YEAR OF MEASUREMENTS

open access: yesRudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik, 2018
Ground temperature at shallow depth (< 50 m) is not stable, nor in space, neither in time, and its behaviour is the result of superimposition of effects of heat pulses of different origin: solar, geothermal and anthropic. The correct assessment of ground

Electroactive Liquid Crystal Elastomers as Soft Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electroactive liquid crystal elastomers (eLCEs) can be actuated via electromechanical, electrochemical, or electrothermal effects. a) Electromechanical effects include Maxwell stress, electrostriction, and the electroclinic effect. b) Electrochemical effects arise from electrode redox reactions.

Influence of ground heat source parameters and consumer on characteristics of geothermal heat pump system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Features of heat supply system based on the use of ground are investigated with the help of the method of numerical simulation. The variables are the parameters characterizing the heat source and the consumer: the average temperature ofthe soil, the ...

Droplet Triboelectrification on Liquid‐Like Polymer Brushes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work investigates the triboelectrification of water droplets on polymer brush‐coated surfaces exhibiting minimal contact line pinning. Such surfaces enable the systematic study of electrode patterning and controlled changes in droplet contact area.

A Review on the Heat-Source Tower Heat Pump Systems in China

open access: yesEnergies
Based on air-, water-, and ground-source heat pump systems, a novel type of heat pump system, named the heat-source tower heat pump system (HSTHPS), has recently been developed in the southern area of China.

New correlation for thermal resistance of vertical single u-tube ground heat exchanger [PDF]

open access: yes
Ground-source heat pump (GSHP) uses the earth as a heat source or heat sink to extract or reject the thermal energy. Since the annual temperature fluctuation of soil under the ground is relatively small, the GSHP system has been recognized as one of the ...
