On evaluating brain tissue classifiers without a ground truth [PDF]
In this paper, we present a set of techniques for the evaluation of brain tissue classifiers on a large data set of MR images of the head. Due to the difficulty of establishing a gold standard for this type of data, we focus our attention on methods which do not require a ground truth, but instead rely on a common agreement principle.

Microbiological and Nutritional Analysis of Lettuce Crops Grown on the International Space Station
The ability to grow safe, fresh food to supplement packaged foods of astronauts in space has been an important goal for NASA. Food crops grown in space experience different environmental conditions than plants grown on Earth (e.g., reduced gravity ...

EFFECT OF TREATED IRRIGATION WATER ON THE HEAVY METAL ACCUMULATION IN TOMATO PLANT TISSUE AND YIELD UNDER GREENHOUSE CONDITION [PDF]
This study was aiming for the determination of heavy metals (Co, Se, Cu, Mn, Fe, Zn, Pb, and Cd) of tomato plant tissue and tomato yield. Plants were cultivated in pots under greenhouse condition for two consecutive seasons using different mixed of tri ...

Effect of α-tocopherol tissue levels on beef quality
To evaluate meat quality of beef with different α-tocopherol tissue levels, 55 feedlot steers were fed a barley-based finisher diet with four vitamin E supplementation levels (0, 350, 700 and 1400 IU dl-α-tocopheryl acetate/animal per day) for 120 days ...

Surfing along the root ground tissue gene network [PDF]
Organization of tissues in Arabidopsis thaliana root is made of, from outside in, epidermis, cortex, middle cortex, endodermis, pericycle and vascular tissues. Cortex, middle cortex and endodermis form the ground tissue (GT) system. Functional and molecular characterization of GT patterning mutants' properties has greatly increased our understanding of

Integrative regulation of middle cortex formation: from classic modules to emerging pathways
Generation of distinct cell types through asymmetric cell division (ACD) is a fundamental developmental process in multicellular organisms. Therefore, controlling when and where ACDs occur is essential for the production of new cells and tissues.

Tissue segmentation from head MRI: a ground truth validation for feature-enhanced tracking
Accuracy is essential for optical head-tracking in cranial radiotherapy. Recently, the exploitation of local patterns of tissue information was proposed to achieve a more robust registration. Here, we validate a ground truth for this information obtained

ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.
