Lab-on-Chip Devices: Gaining Ground Losing Size

ACS Nano, 2017
Portable analytical devices are notably gaining relevance in the panorama of urgent testing. Such devices have the potential to play an important role as easy-to-handle tools in critical situations. Epidemic infectious disease agents (e.g., Ebola virus, Coronavirus, Zika virus) could be controlled more easily by testing travelers on-site at the country

Research on Hanging Grounding Wire Device with Integrated Electroscope and Grounding

2019 14th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2019
Hanging the grounding wire during the catenary daily power outage operation is the significant link to ensure safe work. While maintaining, the electroscope must be firstly used for electricity inspection before grounding wires. Since the operation is carried out step by step, it is easy to mistake tools and there might be inconsistency between the ...

Mathematical model of remote monitoring for grounding devices on overhead power line poles by measuring grounding device resistance

Energy Safety and Energy Economy, 2021
We report that we have built a mathematical model of a remote monitoring module for the purpose of control grounding devices located on overhead power line poles. The invention is based on measuring grounding device resistance. Resistance measurements conducted by the said monitoring module go directly to a power company’s control room.

4G/Multiband handheld device ground antennas

2013 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings (APMC), 2013
Promising internal handheld device ground antennas are presented. Using the ground antenna concept, the antenna element functions mainly as an exciter and can have a very small size to achieve 4G/multiband operation. In this paper, ground antenna structures for handheld devices including the use of a loop strip, a half-loop strip, a simple shorted ...

Compact Wireless Devices with Defected-Ground Structures

2006 International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Communications (ICWMC'06), 2006
In this paper are presented some investigations on micro- strip defected ground structures (DGS). It is shown that the presence of a slot in the ground plane can substantially enhance the electric coupling, or the electric part of a mixed coupling between resonators and its external feedings.
