Ground-Free ECG Recording with Two Electrodes

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1980
ECG recordings normally use three electrodes?two for the differential inputs of the ECG amplifier and the third for ground. We analyze those situations where the ground electrode can be eliminated. We propose a model for the source of electrical interference and determine various parameter values.

Improved Mesh Grounding Electrode Model by Changing Arrangements of Internal Conductors of the Mesh Grounding Electrode

Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, 2010
Mesh grounding electrodes in Korea and abroad are designed as lattice-shaped equidistance grounding grids. In case of a lattice-shaped grounding Grid, however, there is a problem of higher touch voltage at the corner of the grid relative to the center.

Lightning response of grounding electrodes

2020
A grounding electrode consists of any buried metallic body responsible for dispersing current to the soil. The specific application has significant influence on the electrodes' arrangement and dimension. The arrangement can vary from a simple rod, connected to the transformer of a distribution line, to horizontal electrodes buried about 0.5 m deep in ...

Effects of DC Ground Electrode on Converter Transformers

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1989
DC transmission systems are normally equipped with a DC ground electrode for emergency or normal operation with or without ground return. In all cases, the DC ground stabilizes the DC voltage. During operation with ground return, a DC ground potential rise occurs at the DC ground electrode and DC voltage is transferred to the station ground.

Suction Cup Ground and Reference Electrodes in Electrodiagnosis

Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, 1989
An alternative to the taped-disc surface electrodes typically used during monopolar and concentric needle electromyographic studies has been investigated. The use of suction cup surface electrodes in place of the taped metal disc surface electrodes increases patient and operator safety and enhances patient comfort and operator efficiency. A two-channel

High Frequency Characteristics of Impedances to Ground And Field Distributions of Ground Electrodes

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1981
High frequency characteristics of impedances to ground and field distributions of ground electrodes are calculated by the current simulation method together with the method of images. Numerical calculations concerning some typical electrodes are shown.

Research on common grounding electrode in HVDC

2011 4th International Conference on Electric Utility Deregulation and Restructuring and Power Technologies (DRPT), 2011
Compared to regular independent ground electrode, common grounding electrode has its own technical challenges and more complex aspects to be considered in the design. The characteristics between common grounding electrode and regular independent ground electrode are presented in this paper.
