Grounding Grids Transient Simulation
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2005A transient grounding grid numerical model is developed. The results are compared with measurements done by other authors. The agreement between the simulations and measured data are completed with the comparison with theoretical results and concepts. Several cases with different soil parameters and grid geometry are presented.

Resistance to ground and mesh voltages of ground grids
Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1979The paper presents the results of a digital analysis of a wide set of square and rectangular grounding grids. The diagrams for grid resistances and mesh voltage factors are displayed appropriate for practical design purposes. Simple approximate formulas for both grid parameters considered are also proposed, providing a fair estimation of the parameters.

2018 International Conference On Advances in Communication and Computing Technology (ICACCT), 2018
In unequally spaced grounding grid the buried horizontal interconnected conductors are placed at unequal space in such a manner that denser and closely spaced grid conductors placed near periphery of the grid than center of the earth grid. So grounding grid design in unequally spaced manner may be more safe than equally spaced in which there are ...

Grid Enabled Ground Segment Systems
2005 IEEE Aerospace Conference, 2005Distributed architectures, commonly adopted by ground segment systems in order to cope with the large amounts of data and intensive computing associated with space missions, are now facing new scenarios with increasing data rates, larger archives and added-value services that call for the investigation of technologies capable of supporting these ...

Interconnections criteria of grounding grids in global grounding systems
2018 IEEE/IAS 54th Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Technical Conference (I&CPS), 2018A Global Grounding System is defined as the combination of local grounding systems, obtained by their interconnection, which ensures, thanks to their proximity, that no dangerous touch voltages can arise. The interconnection of grounding systems via the armors of the MV cables, between secondary substations and HV/MV stations is herein analyzed to ...

Improved Design of Square Grounding Grids
2006 International Conference on Power System Technology, 2006Vertical ground rods are the simplest and commonly used means for earth termination of electrical and lightning protection systems. It plays an important role when adding to the grounding grid to improve the performance of it by reducing not only the grid resistance but also the step and touch voltages to values that safe for human.

Relaxed hierarchical power/ground grid analysis
Proceedings of the ASP-DAC 2005. Asia and South Pacific Design Automation Conference, 2005., 2005This paper proposes a novel hierarchical approach to the efficient analysis of large VLSI power/ground grids. Different from the existing hierarchical approach where sub-circuit equivalent models are sparsified with computation-intensive integer programming and the resulting modeling may lead to larger errors if the top circuit matrix has large ...

Surface Potential Calculation for Grounding Grids
2006 IEEE International Power and Energy Conference, 2006One of tasks of the grounding systems is to maintain the voltage rise due to discharging fault current into grounding grids at the minimum value to insure the safety of public and personnel. The objective of the paper is to make a comparison between the addition of horizontal rods and vertical rods to the grounding grids to improve the performance of ...

Impulse transient characteristic of grounding grids
2002 3rd International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2003The lightning transient characteristics of a substation grounding grid are analyzed in detail, especially considering the dynamic and nonlinear effects of soil ionization around grounding conductors and the inductance between grounding conductors. The analysis results are calculated by a loss transmission-line model with distributed time-variable ...

Grounding Grids for High-Voltage Stations
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1963ln most high-voltage switchyards, basic grounding systems are formed by a grid of horizontally buried conductors. A method is developed to determine more accurately the resistance of such grounding systems. The dimensions are those usually encountered in practice with the conductors buried near the surface of the earth. The varying soil resistivity may
