Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Electric Fencing: Installing and Testing a Proper Grounding System
An adequate grounding system is essential for an effective electric fence. Unfortunately, poor grounding is a leading cause of problems with electric fencing.

Analysis of thermal ablation faults in the grounding system of a 35 kV three-core submarine cable
Currently, submarine cables in operation (hereinafter referred to as “submarine cables”) commonly use insulated or semi-conductive polyethylene sheaths to isolate the three-phase metal sheaths, preventing complete cancellation of the induced voltage ...

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Studying grounding arrangements of the LVDC system through simulation
Low-voltage DC (LVDC) systems may soon become an integral part of our electric grid. Faults on DC lines are usually pole-to-ground faults that depend on the grounding arrangement of the DC system.
