On the Concept of Grounding Impedance of Multipoint Grounding Systems

IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2014
An N-port equivalent circuit approach is adopted to model a multipoint grounding system, N being the number of injection points. A methodology is proposed to determine the parameters of the N-port equivalent circuit from either numerical simulations or experimental measurements.

An improved transmission-line model of grounding system

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2001
This paper presents a time-domain transmission line model of grounding system, which includes the mutual electromagnetic coupling between the parts of the grounding structure and the influence of air-earth interface. The model can be used to simulate the

Hybrid grounding of electrical systems

2016 Petroleum and Chemical Industry Technical Conference (PCIC), 2016
This paper will discuss the many different ways to ground medium voltage generators. Single source as well as multiple source units, either unit connected or bus connected, will be shown with preferred grounding schemes.

Ground-3D: A FEM CAD/CAE System for Ground Systems Analysis

Digest of the Fifth Biennial IEEE Conference on Electromagnetic Field Computation, 2005
A complete modelling of a grounding system made by ground meshes, connected or not in multilayer soil is presented. A 3D approach is used to model rods or wire conductors, grave layers and conductor plates that are commonly found in grounding systems.

Grounding systems research: re-establishing grounded theory

Proceedings of the 35th Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2003
In the field of information systems (IS) there has been a growing trend away from a technical view of systems (with the system literally seen primarily in terms of the physical devices), to one that seeks to account for nontangible aspects such as cognition, culture, motivation and so on.

GROUND CONDUCTOR FOR A GROUNDING SYSTEM

2001
A ground conductor for grounding systems of electrostatic separators, comprising an electroconductive core with a plastic or rubber sheath. In order to prevent the liquids from flowing therethrough, the inventive ground conductor consists of two conducting parts, the conducting parts are joined to each other by means of a liquid-tight graphite part ...

Grounding System Parameters and Expression of Ground Resistance

2016
In any electrical circuit network, the circuitry that provides a path between the parts of the circuit and the ground, is known as the grounding system. The grounding system is required for reliable operation of any electrical equipment including generator, transformer, power system tower, and other power system installation under fault conditions.

Grounding of subtransmission systems

Electrical Engineering, 1955
SUBTRANSMISSION systems can be grounded through a solid connection, a reactance, a resistance, or a combination of the latter two. In selecting a grounding method it is necessary to consider the following: ground relaying sensitivity, magnitude of ground fault currents, degree of overvoltage protection obtained from the arrester rating applicable ...
