Groundwater control by groundwater lowering

Geological Society, London, Engineering Geology Special Publications, 1986
ABSTRACT When an excavation is to extend beneath the water table the ground conditions may be improved by lowering the level of the water table beneath the proposed base of the excavation. Groundwater lowering is accomplished by removing water from the ground at a faster rate than recharge can occur.

Global groundwater wells at risk of running dry

Science, 2021
When your well runs dry Groundwater provides nearly half of the water used for agricultural irrigation and most of the drinking water for billions of people. It is essential, then, for this resource to remain secure.

Hydrogeochemical characterization and quality assessment of groundwater based on integrated-weight water quality index in a concentrated urban area

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2020
Clean and safe groundwater is the basic guarantee for social and human sustainable development. With the increasing groundwater pollution, it is essential to characterize hydrogeochemistry and assess groundwater quality accurately for water supply ...

Spatial prediction of groundwater potential mapping based on convolutional neural network (CNN) and support vector regression (SVR)

Journal of Hydrology, 2020
Freshwater shortages have become much more common globally in recent years. Water resources that are naturally available beneath the surface are capable of reversing this condition. Spatial modeling of groundwater distribution is an important undertaking

Groundwater Pricing and Groundwater Markets

2018
There are several general principles involved in assessing the economic value of water and the costs associated with its provision. First, an understanding of the costs involved with the provision of water, both direct and indirect, is key. Second, from the use of water, one can derive a value, which can be affected by the reliability of supply, and by
