Phytoscreening for Vinyl Chloride in Groundwater Discharging to a Stream [PDF]
Abstract This study applies an optimized phytoscreening method to locate a chlorinated ethene plume discharging into a stream. To evaluate the conditions most suitable for successful phytoscreening, trees along the stream bank were monitored through different seasons with different environmental conditions and hence different uptake ...

Effect of cut-off walls on submarine groundwater discharge in non-isothermal conditions
Temperature could change the migration characteristics of coastal groundwater. However, research on groundwater discharge processes under the influences of cut-off walls has been limited to isothermal conditions.

Quantification of Submarine Groundwater Discharge in the Gaza Strip [PDF]
Gaza Strip has suffered from seawater intrusion during the past three decades due to low rainfall and high abstraction from the groundwater resource. On a yearly basis, more than 170 million m3 of groundwater is abstracted, while the long-term average recharge from rainfall is 24.4 million m3/year.

Fuel‐free Cu2O‐based micromotors functionalized with β‐cyclodextrin actively remove bisphenol A from water under visible light. The cyclodextrin shell captures BPA and enhances micromotor motility, leading to faster degradation and higher overall removal than nonfunctionalized Cu2O and Cu2O@Au.

Groundwater Rise Sustains the World's Largest Alpine Water System Under Global Warming
Shallow groundwater depth (SGWD) across the non‐permafrost plains of the Qinghai–Xizang Plateau decreased at averagely 0.02 m year−1, adding 31.44 Gt of freshwater storage from 2000 to 2020 and sustaining ∼53 500 km2 of alpine ecosystems. A vadose‐zone capacity of 426.6 Gt reveals these aquifers as promising reservoirs, highlighting groundwater's ...

Unheralded Submarine Groundwater Discharge [PDF]
Land meets the ocean in the coast zone, which is of great importance for aquaculture, fisheries, tourism and transportation, among other things. As fifty percent of the world population lives within 100 km of the coast, human activities have put tremendous pressure on the coastal environment.
